Upon enlistment to the IDF, he was assigned to the Armored Corps in the 211th Brigade, 126th Battalion. Underwent training as a fighter and tank commanders course. Later, he completed an officers’ course and served as a tank platoon commander. He served in several command positions in the IDF, including company commander of the Battalion from 1993 to 1995, commander of the 7th Platoon from 1995 to 1997, deputy commander of the 75th Battalion until 1998, and commander of the 75th Battalion from 2001 to 2003. He then served as commander of the Dekel Battalion at the Officers’ School until 2004. Later, he served as an instructor at the Tactical Command College and was the head of the ground branch in the ground forces. In 2007, he was appointed commander of the Fire Training Center and, at the same time, served as brigade commander. In 2009, he was appointed brigade commander in the Armored Corps. In 2011, he was appointed Head of Operations. In 2013, he was promoted to brigadier general and appointed division commander. That same year, he was appointed head of the Torah and Training Division of the IDF’s Operations Directorate.

In September 2019, he was appointed commander of the Northern Corps and promoted to the rank of major-general, in parallel with his position as head of the Torah and Training Division in the Operations Directorate. In August 2020, he was appointed commander of the Ground Forces’ Multidimensional Integrated Maneuver Division.
